YW Acivities

Hello Bloggers. Well I've been looking at all these ladies blogs. They are either moms of YW or YW leaders and they have given me some pretty cool ideas. I haven't done too many cool things this year, but later in the year things should get fun. I'm first councelor in my branch YW and I know some of you are interested in what I'm doing with them. ***These are not real victures of our activity, but I'll start doing that later. So here is what we have done thus far in the year:

Jan 18- We had one of our girls (Destini) teach us how to Crochet. She did a really awesome job.
Jan 25- on the last wednesday of the month we are combined with our YM. We got rained out of all our other activities we had planned so we went bowling. The YW did it a little differently. (I think I already posted this but here it is again.) we had starburst and skittles. If they drew a Red they did a Granny shot. Orange-backwards between the legs. Purple/pink-on their stomaches. Yellow-bowl with their weaker hand, which surprizingly they did better than with their normal hand HAHA! and green was normal.
Feb 1- The girls and I went through their camp goals so I could put together camp without them so there will be a sence of excitment in the unknown :)
Feb 8- I tought the girls how to make corsages. We made them for the ladies in the branch for Valentines Day. They turned out way cute.

Feb 15- We put Kristin in charge of a Get to Know You game.
Feb 21 (Tuesday)- We had our New Beginnings with the R.S. It was so well attended and I want to thank everyone for coming! Debra (the Pres) and I decorated everything in the YW colors. She went over the values and their meanings and I went over the rules and how they can tweek the goals to fit their daily lives. That following Sunday I also gave a talk on the mutal theme which is Arise and Shine forth, that thy light may be a standard for the nations. Because I didn't get to cover it on Tuesday.
Feb 29- Combined Volleyball. They always seem to enjoy that alot. I chose not to play cause I put up a bulleton board advertising the Talent show instead.

Mar 7- They planned the camp menus.

Today March 14- Victoria was in charge of the activity. She sent the girls on a scavenger hunt that goes along with each of the values. We called it a rainbow hunt.
From now on I want to take pictures of our activites so I can document them throughout the year. So hopfully every Wednesday I will have a new post of what we did with the girls :)

The Final Day!!!... to me for completing 30 days! I think I did pretty good. I only was late a couple of days.

Anything I want... Well since the last few posts have told you almost everything about my likes/dislikes/interest... I thought I would catch everyone up on my most recent happenings. On Friday I went to work at the Theatre, like I do most weekends. We got a new touch screen system and I had to work at the concession stand. This machine is as tall as me. Like face to face with this screen for 4 hours. 3 of those hours my hand was in the air pushing all the buttons. My arm was numb, I was faster than the computer, and there were SOOO many people. Well truthfully not the most people I've seen at the theatre on one night, but those who did come to the concession stand wanted like 4 large everything.

One of my biggest pet peeves is when a whole family gets to the front of the line and they ask... "k what do you want?" AHHHH Seriously? You just have 10 minutes to talk about that! So you people reading this. If there is a line at the concession stand plan on what you're going to get before you get there.

Anyway.. to make the night even better all the people in the concession stand got sick because it was so hot back there. But I was coming down with something and I was shivering but my face was red and I was sweating way bad.

The owner thought that a movie would get out a lot earlier than it did and scheduled the 2 movies too close together. We had a group of (kinda) upset people waiting in our lobby for 30 minutes...

I had to close that night so I stayed till 11.. Then I noticed my keys were locked in my car... Perfect end to a perfect day... You know those days that the whole universe is working against you? Yeah that was this one.

Saturday. Woke up with a sore/raspy throate. Went to Squeeze. Mom and Dad came into town to clean up my yard. I went to work at the Theatre for the matinee. Saturday at squeeze was slow. And that night at the theatre was much more organized.

Sunday I woke up with no voice. And I knew I was supposed to teach a lesson that day. I was asked to sub for the teenagers sunday school. I didn't have any lesson planned so I took in a coloring page and asked them about combined YM and YW activities. It went better than I thought it would be. My YW lesson went ok. Went home, took a 10 minute nap, then went to the Stake center with mom. I'm supposed to sing in the chior, but since I had no voice I couldn't sing in the chior. Yep. That's my life.

Day 27- Someone I love.

DAy 26...something I don't like.
If you know me at all you know that I hate Green Beans
Also I really Really REALLY dislike mushrooms.

Day 25- a View. This is possibly my favorite spot in the world. The statue of Joseph and Hyrum with the big hill behind them, big shady trees, and the Mississippi River. The sunsets are like no other.
